Muay Thai in Norway
Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, uses fists, elbows, knees and shins, the “eight limbs”. Training is serious conditioning on top of technique, and you can keep at it for years without hard sparring if you have no plans to compete.
25 clubs across 17 Norwegian towns have muay thai on the schedule. All of them say so on their own pages — none are inferred. The clubs that publish a price sit at 200–899 kr a month.

What an ordinary class looks like
Skipping or shadow work to warm up, technique on pads in pairs, clinch work, and conditioning at the end. Sparring is optional in the great majority of Norwegian clubs, and how hard it goes is agreed between the two partners. The coach does not dictate it.
Kit and cost
The club lends gloves and shin guards for the first few sessions. Your own hand wraps cost under 200 kroner and are worth buying immediately; gloves, shin guards and a mouthguard come once you know you are staying. Membership typically runs 400 to 800 kroner a month.

Questions about Muay Thai
Do I have to spar in Muay Thai?
No. Sparring is its own slot in the week at most Norwegian clubs, and you can train pads, bags and clinch for years without taking part.
What do I need for my first Muay Thai class?
Shorts, a t-shirt and water. Gloves and shin guards are lent by the club; hand wraps are the first thing worth buying yourself.
Muay Thai or kickboxing?
Muay Thai adds elbows, knees and the clinch; kickboxing has fewer tools and a slightly lower barrier. If the club near you only trains one of them, the choice is made.
